What is Team HBV?
![]() |
Team HBV is the outreach arm of the Asian Liver Center at Stanford University; it comprises our volunteer network, collegiate chapters, high school chapters, as well as the clubs and organizations at schools and universities nation- and world-wide who further Team HBV's mission. More broadly, it includes all of those groups and individuals which toil endlessly under the noble cause of the Jade Ribbon Campaign: to increase awareness and provide ethnic-sensitive health information to the API community and health professionals in an effort to reduce this major health disparity and improve API health. |

The Team HBV Collegiate Chapters raise awareness about hepatitis B, promote the ideals of the Jade Ribbon Campaign, and ultimately strive to better the health and general welfare of the student body and the local community as it pertains to hepatitis B and liver cancer. The nationally active Team HBV Collegiate Chapters Advisory Board provides technical support for the National Collegiate Chapters to enable effective collaboration and outreach by sharing resources and exchanging ideas. Team HBV Collegiate Chapters Conference

The Inaugural Team HBV Collegiate Conference, organized by the Asian Liver Center, brings together individuals representing Team HBV chapters worldwide, Jade Ribbon Campaign advocates, and hepatitis B and liver cancer experts. The conference provides a professional forum for Team HBV Collegiate Chapters to share insights, best practices, and strategies to advance hepatitis B outreach, education, and communication. The conference is an excellent opportunity to receive updated hepatitis B news and legislation, network with other chapters, and advance the future of hepatitis B and liver cancer outreach education. The Team HBV Collegiate Conference will take place at Stanford University for one weekend each year. Students will have the opportunity to learn from the ALC Director and Staff, present their own work, and share strategies and best practices. |

After the Youth Leadership Conference, many high school students become active leaders and empowered members of their community. These high school chapyters work to raise awareness about hepatitis B, promote the ideals of the Jade Ribbon Campaign, and ultimately strive to better the health of the student body and the local community as it pertains to hepatitis B and liver cancer. Working with the Asian Liver Center and in conjunction with the Jade Ribbon Youth Council, high school chapters have been formed at many high schools in the Bay Area. In addition, there are numerous high school chapters forming in other parts of the country, including New York and Texas. More information on Youth and High School Chapters. |
