Team HBV Collegiate Chapter Conference
Description
The 1st Annual Team HBV Conference 2009: Sharing strategies and best practices among college chapters focusing on hepatitis B and liver cancer awareness, community outreach and education as part of the Jade Ribbon Campaign will be held at Stanford University on November 13-15, 2009. Representatives of the China university chapters are invited to stay at Stanford for a few additional days from November 9-16, 2009.
The Inaugural Team HBV Collegiate Conference, organized by the ALC, brings together individuals representing Team HBV chapters worldwide, Jade Ribbon Campaign advocates, and hepatitis B and liver cancer experts. The conference provides a professional forum for Team HBV chapters to share insights, best practices, and strategies to advance hepatitis B outreach, education, and communication. The conference is an excellent opportunity to receive updated hepatitis B news and legislation, network with other chapters, and advance the future of hepatitis B and liver cancer outreach education.
Collegiate Team HBV has active chapters at Cornell University, Duke University, Harvard University, University of California, Berkeley, University of California, Davis, University of California Los Angeles, University of California San Diego, University of Illinois, University of Pennsylvania, University of Southern California, and Wesleyan University, and international chapters at Jiaotong University in China, Central University for Nationalities, and Tsinghua University. In addition, there are eight high school chapters in the San Francisco Bay Area. In order to give oral presentations, collegiate chapters must submit abstracts and proposals to the ALC conference organizers as for a professional conference. High school chapters are invited to participate in the conference to give them ideas for high school projects and as a platform to eventually developing their own collegiate chapters.
