
Team HBV Collegiate Chapter Conference Program
The 1st Annual Team HBV Conference 2009 Program will include:
Hepatitis B Knowledge: Dr. Samuel So, Director of the Asian Liver Center, will also welcome the Team HBV Chapters and provide an overview of the latest hepatitis B and liver cancer knowledge at the beginning of the conference that will include the updates in knowledge and legislation.
Web 2.0 and Social Networking: The Asian Liver Center would be honored to have Mr Ping Chao from the Ping and Amy Chao Family Foundation speak to the Team HBV Chapters about the East Villagers website, including its conception, utilization and function as it pertains to their individuals chapters and Team HBV as a whole.
Student Presentations: In order to give chapter presentations, collegiate chapter members must submit abstracts to the ALC; the abstracts will then be selected for oral or poster presentations. Student presentations give the chapters a formal opportunity to share their local activities.
Workshops: ALC Staff will conduct several workshops during the conference that will highlight various outreach skills and evaluation tools that Team HBV Chapter can utilize to improve their campus and community outreach and education. Topics will cover community outreach, health marketing, budget and finance, logistics and operations, and advocacy and political involvement.
Strategy Sharing: Sunday morning will be dedicated for conference participants will have the opportunity to share insights, best practices and strategies to advance hepatitis B outreach, education and communication.
International Students: Additional activities will be planned for the visiting students from China, including a visit to see the clinics and projects of the SF Hep B Free Campaign.
