Asian Liver Center

Patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) or liver tumors (including cancer that has spread to the liver) or hepatobiliary disorders are presented and evaluated at the Multidisciplinary Liver Tumor Clinic/Tumor Board at Stanford University Medical Center by a team of specialists to address both the treatment of the tumor and any underlying liver disease such as hepatitis B. This multidisciplinary team consists of liver surgeon, hepatologist, interventional and diagnostic radiologists, medical and radiation oncologists, pathologists, and molecular biologists studying the genomics of HCC. Although the treatment approach is constantly evolving, our goals are to eradicate the tumor without subjecting the patient to an undue risk of hepatic failure, and to prolong survival and quality of life.
